I did two trips down to the French alps from Scotland last year and having previously done the same journey in a big Volvo with cruise control, I'm looking to put cruise control in my Doblo. It's 1,300+ miles on motorway each way in France alone and the cruise control makes it a much more pleasant journey.

I got a quote from a local auto electrician of £600 to supply and fit which is quite eye watering.

I can see aftermarket kits online from £200

And some more expensive options up to about £400.

However having done some reading on here and elsewhere, I was wondering if the Alfa 147 stalk would fit? I'm guessing this hinges on whether or not you have have the socket already installed under the steering wheel. All the aftermarket kits state it's a CANBUS system so I assume it's plug and play without too much wiring to be done.

Various posts on this forum about people fitting the Alfa 147 stalk to a different Fiats and it works perfectly.

My Doblo is a 2012 1.3SX turbo diesel. Is it simply a case of popping the steering shroud and if the cruise terminal is there I can use the Alfa stalk?

Not 100% sure of what will fit where.

However anything that is fitted that uses the CANBUS system, you need to use the likes of multiecuscan software to let the CANBUS system know that it is now fitted and turn on the cruise light, all the other interfaces associated with cruise adjusted etc.

So it is not just plug and play.

So Im guessing the older Fiats that people were using the Alfa stock on were not CANBUS systems?

Not too sure on that, however your doblo has a CANBUS system so you will have to fit a compatible kit.

Same as on my qubo, you can get a Kit for a towbar, but once you have to mess with the CANBUS system it puts the prices up ( fitted by a witter agent )
