Hi, I have just bought a used Doblo Maxi Cargo (2017 registered). I`m wondering if/how could fit cruise control to it? Is it as simple as adding the Cruise Control Stalk (i.e. everything else is already there/built in)

Thanks in advance. James

Hi, I have successfully retrofitted stock cruise control to my Vauxhall Combo 2014 (rebadged Doblo) not sure if the facelift model from 2015 onwards will be any different but I would expect it to be the same/similar.

***I don't take any responsibility for damage or accidents caused if using my experience as a guide, proceed at your own risk***

A good first step is using MES and yellow adaptor (IIRC) see if you can activate cruise control indicator on dashboard. I think if it is possible to trigger it, there's a good chance it will work plug and play.

You need to source a wiper stalks unit that includes the cruise control stalk like this listing on eBay below:

(Note that the yellow squib/slip ring attached isn't necessary, you can resuse the existing one)

Need to remove steering wheel airbag first, so disconnect battery and wait. Some say 30 minutes, other say an hour or more. Research this first, so you know why this is important. Last thing you want is activation of the air bag.

Once time has elapsed you release air bag by inserting a flat head screw driver into the sides of steering wheel to push down on a retaining clip each side. You'll have to puncture a hole in the side of steering wheel, if you look closely there's a slight indentation/circle where you need to do this.

This isn't the easiest as the angle has to be just right, but persevere and you'll get the hang of it. This image shows the Clio you're trying to push inwards:

Then to disconnect the wire from air bag use a thin flat head to lever up the yellow tab and then it should pull out of the pink socket:

Then in center of steering wheel remove the rubber boot over nut and undo nut. Can't remember size exactly but a search online should detail this.

Pull off steering wheel and now take off the cowl that is behind steering wheel. There's a number of bolts from underneath, I think allen head, there's one hidden above/behind the steering wheel adjustment lever, pull that down to access. Once these bolts are all out, use a trim tool to separate bottom half of cowl from top half, remove bottom. At the back of top half attached to the leather material are two clips that are underneath speedometer panel:

And hidden inside top half are another couple of bolts either side of squib:

Between top and bottom half on the left side, there is a plastic piece that links the two, it will have a hole which the indicator stalk will be coming through. It is possible to source a stock piece with the second hole in for the cruise control stalk

I just used a hole saw to drill out a similar sized hole.

Remove the connector at the top of squib, depress the black tab and pull blue lever up, then pull out of squib

3 screws hold in the squib to the stalk assembly

Now pull off squib, being careful not to rotate it, set aside.

To remove the stalk assembly there's a nut accessed from beneath securing it to the column

Disconnect wiring harness, done in a similar way to the previous connector on the squib

Now simply reverse instructions putting everything back with your stalk assembly including cruise control stalk.

Using MES and yellow adaptor, activate cruise control (If needed I'll detail this later) and perform proxi alignment. Now test to see if cruise control stalk activates dash indicator when turned on. It should now work as if fitted from factory.
