Hello
I own a 2013 Fiat ducatto 3.0l powering my motorhome
The unit has cruise control which is really good except I do not believe it is fitted with a cancel switch.
The cruise control stalk does the following:
Turn / rotate to switch it on and off
Move up and down to set or increase / decrease speed
Press the end to resume. On later models the end of the stalk says cancel and resume. Mine only resumes
My issue is the only way I can cancel and retain the memory to resume later is when I brake.
If I need to cancel due to traffic conditions without braking I have to turn it off after which the memory is lost?
In reality, in real driving conditions I stab the brake lightly which cancels but retains the memory. Whilst I don't like as the brake lights will flash on the switching off the unit requires me reaching over to the stalk and turning off?
Can the feature be updated to allow pressing the stalk to cancel and resume?
Or could an additional momenrtry switch be wired to mimic the cancel function that exists when you brake?
Any ideas
John

Lots of vehicles will throw a code if the two brake switch outputs aren't syncronised a switch on the clutch pedal switch might work but I can't see whats the problem with your brake lights coming on.

Thanks for the reply and good point about the duplicate brake signal
The issue with braking is that Often cancelling the cruise is due to anticipated road conditions ahead when you should be back in control of the speed maybe just for a few miles. In these cases there is no braking needed just transferring control back to me possibly because of congestion.
This is typical especially on the continent.

I may be wrong, having not driven my motorhome using the cruise control since October, but I believe depressing the clutch pedal also cancels the cruise control whilst retaining the memory?

You are correct. I have a MH on a 2011 and I dab the brakes to perform a cancel, as you have described.
I also drive a Mondeo which can be cancelled with the resume button.
The Mondeo also lights the cruise indicator light when cruising whereas the Ducato lights the indicator as soon as cruise is turned on, whether cruising or not.
I prefer the Mondeo functionality.

Personally I think pressing the brake is better than adding another switch. I thought of a very simple solution with a double pole relay and momentary switch to switch both the brake outputs momentarily if you do want to add a momentary switch.

Strange! I have a 2012 2.2 Peugeot motorhome and the end button does pause and resume, as in manual. Might this be a software warranty problem? Check the manual.

Sorry! I have just realised that you are out of warranty, unless it's a new purchase.

Not strange, the 2.2 is a puma engine with visteon ecu, the 2.3 is sofim engine with bosch ecu, it like comparing iphone and android.

Makes perfect sense from the point of view of the ECU being different but why should the software be different? The button is merely a trigger which I would have expected to be programmed to do the same as it does on the Peugeot given that both chassis cabs come from the same Sevel factory. Most cruise controls allow pause as well as resume from the stalk control.

Pause..??

How does that work..or just means the previous speed setting is retained?
