Just about to replace the crank/TDC sensor on my Fiat Marea 1.6 Weekend and found the mounting bracket was broken (where it bolts on to the engine casing) any ideas where to get a new one and how do i adjust once fitted (no problem with gapping the sensor against the crank) I noticed it swivels on two bolts holding it.

Scrapyard the mount from a 1.6 bravo/stilo/marea? should be dirt cheap literally!, not so sure about adjustment though, just make sure the distance is right (Y).

it needs to be 9000's of an inch air gap between the sensor and phonic wheel have you got the plastic or the cast mag inlet manifold in yours???

multiple error codes showing up

hi lads my super reliable 1900 jtd had a red light come on just to the right of the glow plugs light anyway it wont start now i had it towed down to my garage who recons it was the crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor which they have both changed now the car is showing multiple ERRORS on their machine he recons it could even be the brain has gone this is just 2 days after the same garege put a new MOT on it any ideas lads..

Re: multiple error codes showing up

Clean contacts, check that battery has good voltage, connect FiatECUScan (or MES as it is called nowadays, free version reads the JTD ECUs), clear codes and reread codes that pop up after the clear.

Not sure what light you mean but if it is injectionsystem light, the ECU knows something is wrong.

Re: multiple error codes showing up

Sounds like a power supply fault to me too,

check 1 = battery, then dodgy earths / connections,

do you trust the garage with technical stuff ?? some are ok with mechanics but hopeless with electronics / CODE error things,
spent £120 on my JTD and the fault was WORSE - had to fix it myself in the end,
Charlie
