My Stilo has cut out a few times and searching this forum has pointed me to believe the fault is the Crank (rpm) sensor. I have a capable friend who is going to fit a new one, but I'm not going to see him until the weekend. I want to order the part and have it ready for then. Fiat wants £59 for the part.

I have found this site to get the part from

http://ignitioncarparts.no-ip.info/Products.aspx?Man=FIAT&Mod=STILO%20Hatchback%20From%2010/2001&Ser=STILO%20(192)%201.9%20JTD%20(192%20XE1A)%20Diesel&Year=10/01%20to&BHP=85&HP=115&CC=1910&Cylinders=04&Valves=8&VID=16057&e1=192A1000&e2=192A1.000

After entering the correct engine information there are two Crankshaft position sensors.

Two questions - Is a Crankshaft position sensor the same as a crank sensor? And which one do I order?

Car is Fiat Stilo 1.9JTD 2002 (192 XE1A) engine code 192A1000

Any help greatly appreciated

I bought a genuine Fiat Crankshaft Sensor for my 2003 jtd last week from a Fiat dealer.

Part number 46806128, £25.40 +VAT.

It's the one with part number PDTS0169 in your link and fits just above the starter motor on the jtd engine.

Crankshaft Sensor and Crankshaft Position Sensor are the same thing.

Dave.

Car has been to Fiat Bolton today, they wanted £59 for the part, £169 fitted and £219 for diagnostic checks and fitting.

I told them to stuff it and hence looking to source the part elsewhere.

Cheers, for the details Davren I'll order it tomorrow.

Are you sure it is not the cam position sensor that is faulty? Gives same symptoms and is harder to change, and possibly could be more expensive.

I told Fiat what I though the fault was, they didn't diagnose it.

i can confirm that crank sensor is only £25ish. I paid £23 last year and changed it myself. Simple job, hardest part is getting far enough under the engine to reach up the back and undo the clips that hold the cable secure.
