Technical correct tyre pressure on ducato ???

Hi all I have a 2002 elnagh marlin 65 motorhome on a 2.8td fiat ducato chassie does anyone know the correct tyre pressures for this van ?? . The book states 80psi / 5.5bar this to me seems alot but is it correct ??

its 4.1f and 4.5r for the ff ducato minibus 2.8 lwb so book is probably right for a camper with all that extra weight

The only way to find the correct tyre pressures is to load up the m/home as if you were setting out on a trip with all your kit aboard and head for a weighbridge. This will give you the front and rear axle loadings (and tell you if you are one of the numerous overloaded m/homes that VOSA love to pull over).

At one time you could contact the maker of the tyres fitted and they would tell you what the pressures should be. I am not sure if they still do.

Anyway, go to tyresafe.org, all the info you need is on there once you know how heavy you are.

My Ducato 2.8 JTD tyres are 215/75R16C and the axle loadings are around 1680 kg front and 1740 kg rear. The recommendations would have me running the vehicle at 3.2 bar (46 psi) front and 3.3 bar (49 psi) rear. In my experience these are pressures I would use in soft sand. On the road the vehicle would wallow and feel quite unstable! Beware!

If your planning on pumping to 80 psi make sure your valves are up to it a lot of tyre centers put in car valves and they burst at these pressures. I found out the hard way with a full load and a trailer full of gravel from the quarry.

Good advice.
rubber push fit valves are only rated to 60psi.
metal bolt in ones are needed over that.

There are push fit ones rated to 100psi but noone seems to have them:

And there must be a reason for that.
