Hi Everyone!

We've just rescued a cracking little Cinq - parked up outside a local garage, it looked as though builders had been using it as their daily transport for quite some time!

However, with a bit of TLC and lots of Stardrops cleaner, a butterfly has emerged amd she now looks almost mint.

Just one thing puzzles me, though......although no water disappears from the expansion tank and the heater works (although not as well as in my other car (PT Cruiser, just in case you're curious), the system doesn't appear to be pressurising. Have changed the tank cap, but no difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ian & Lynette

if there is no leaks and its not overheating for deffinate, then its not to much of a problem, my sisters cinq can be at full temp after a good run and in taking the cap of you get just a small hiss hardly anything at all, thats a sign that the cooling is very good, perhaps to good,,,,you say the heater isnt that warm? what does it get to on the gauge??

The heater's not too bad on reflection - sadly, we don't have a temperature gauge, so I can't say exactly how hot (or not!) it's getting.

Perhaps I'm expecting it to pressurise too much, as I've always expected the top radiator hose to feel quite firm when squeezed after the car's warmed up.

It's not proved to be a problem as yet, I was just curious as to the apparent lack of pressure.
