Alright folks,

Need some advice - currently in the process up logging & backing up my music collection (so project Bravo is now on hold for at least the next year lol)

At the moment Im using Windows Media to rip from CD, onto my hard drive. What I'd then like to do is convert the ripped files to mp3 to save space etc! Any advice on the best way to do this, best programmes etc?

Cheers,
Martyn

When you rip the cd you can tell it what format you want to save it as mp3, aac, wma or that strange lossless one. Also specify what bitrate you want 320kb best 256 min(Iknow it takes up room but 126kb sounds pish) Have fun and forward your list of albums.............

Get your coasters here, listen to the music put your drinks on the mat. Your choice - two for a pounda!!!!

Ah...so you can! How handy!

The taking of room isn't a problem, the desktop has a 500gig hard drive so happy times! The list of tracks, currently, stands at around 10,500 - that I know of. Thats maybe half now of the stuff I use for work purposes. The rest is still to be added, plus Ive got boxes upon boxes of old singles and now some vinyl too!

Where the hell do I start?! :D
