Computer wont Load Windows

Currently reading:
Computer wont Load Windows

tried running regsvr32.exe with the 2 dll files.

Tried a few other bits n bobs on the net, and still cant get past.........

just looked at my product key and for some reason it is...


*****-OEM-*******-*****

But my key i used originally thats on the side of my case (well my old case i havent moved it yet lol) is:

*****-*****-*****-*****-*****

completely lost now, all my data is still there when i go on in safe mode, i just cant log on normally:confused:

loosing the will to carry on with this

EDIT:

Just looking at my Device Manager while in safe mode and i cant seem to find my Graphics Card, should it show up in safe mode? or is it f***ed?:(

The OEM key is the PID key (the product ID that is the key that Windows creates as a mash up of the PC hardware and the CD key).

Have a look for "jellybean keyfinder" ;)

Sorry, but that is incorrect. Data never (technically) goes anywhere. They are always still on the hard drive unless you write over them. By taking the drive out of the machine, you arent writing over the files, you are simply disconnecting a hard drive.

If you look on the rifght hand side, of the large picture in the middle of this link ( http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2064 ), you will see it says "RAID Driver Diskette". As I said, it is for a RAID array, made up (I presume) of SATA drives.

What exactly is the problem now? if its just the product key then just download this http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/...indows-product-key-update-tool-free-download/

Edit: Microsoft one might not work without network connection
Try http://michaelstevenstech.com/xppid.zip

boot up in safe mode and change your product key to the one on your case and then reboot, as for the graphics card not showing up thats normal if it caused your system to crash.

ran all the DLLs in the above thread and rebooted, all logging in fine now, only problem i have now is all the settings, its all classic themed and i dont seem to have the ability to change to XP theme......... bastard lol. Will update more when im more awake, going to bed now.

I did warn you about the xp settings being lost, atleast your computer now boots I guess, rather weird about the xp theme though you should be able to change it if the problem consist I suggest downloading the standalone version of the service pack you have and installing it over you current one ie. if you're on sp2 download the sp2 service pack from microsoft and run the setup.
 
Well as soon as i got it working i went to bed, was tired but when i get back tonight a bit more work to do.

Going to plug in my network cable and try and get it all working with the latest updates and Service packs etc. Once i know that all works and the GFX is fine im going to install my new wireless card and bin the one that caused all the problems from the start lol.

I realy want to do it now, but alas i have work :(

Im not going to carry on with this anyway as I have corrected you repeatedly and given you information backed up with evidence and yet you still continue to argue and say Im wrong and question my replies.

I didnt have to install Sata drivers on my new puter, well as far as i know i didnt....... i wouldnt of been able to install them anyways as the HDD is sata and the mobo didnt even have IDE connections on my mobo...........

Thanks alot, hopefully im not going to need any help now (bet ims peaking to soon lol) im very good at fixing someone elses machine but when it comes to mine i go blank half the time........ lol

you have not re-corrected me at all i know what happens when i pull my HDD out so you cannot reply on my case because you was not here to witness anything.
 
Right currently trying to reset it all back to normal.

First of all i cant seem to get anything to minimize to task bar, it minimises above the task bar, like the titlebar with the minimize button and close button etc.

The task bar also starts hidden but showing just the top of its self. To get it to pop up i have to add the language tool or the address bar tool and so on and then it appears, anyone got any tips for getting it back to how it was?

Struggling atm:(

right click the taskbar - properties
uncheck "Auto-hide the taskbar"
 
Tried using the repair in windows setup cd> it copys all the files, reboots and goes to the "install" window and stops everytime at 34 minutes, happened 2/3 times now.

I was trying this way as i know once done everything goes back to normal so to speak.

but nothing:(
 
Did you use Partition Magic to remove the partition and create a new one or just load it straight from the windows cd?

Because i have had problems trying to fix/re-install windows when ive not used Partition Magic and just used the XP cd

PS i formatted my windows the other night it only took 4 mins to install everything and works perfectly

Yeah, some older mobos needed drivers to recognise a SATA drive. I've owned some of these boards :).

Herps, I would have just done a backup in safe mode and a fresh install - you might've had it fixed in an hour or 2!
