Grande Punto col7104's Grande T-Jet

Introduction

Well, the ten week wait was certainly worth it :D. Coming from the Seicento this thing feels like a Roller or something hehe, though I find the seats give me a backache after a few hours of motorway driving.

Optional sub was well worth it - you're not going to get real deep bass from it (for you audiophiles) but for what I need it for it's perfect.

Has an annoying rattle when going over bumps, coming from behind me...need to look into that one.

But on the whole, love it. Here's a few pics to get the ball rolling, though if you've seen one you've seen them all...

Haha, easier said than done! Don't get much time on weekday evenings before it gets dark. Did you manage to talk to the guy who hit your door?

Buy some halogens for £20 and your sorted :)

Nah i havent seen him yet. Ive machine polished the panel and its not that bad. Will just end up sorting it myself as its less hassle.

Weather was so unsettled today I couldn't wash and wax the car for Brooklands next week, sooooooooooo.... I went up to TCS Performance on GSR's RR day :D

Pretty much there on the mapping now. Think there's a little, but not much, to come in peak terms.

Showing two of quite a few runs - 207 was the outright peak of the day, while it ran as low as 194 with the effects of heat. Shouldn't be a problem on the road with a comparatively massive volume of air passing through though.

Now to work out how to get the car washed, polished and waxed in the week before Saturday :(

Very nice Col, What you expecting to get when the final mapping stages happen and everything comes together?

207bhp from T-JET is amazing, you should be pleased with the outcome, I have watched this thread closely and you should be very pleased... sod it, proud of what you have achieved... Nice 1 (y)

Underestimated the light in the evenings now - just finished washing (y)

As an aside, I dried the car with this:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/huge-38-x-28-microfibre-drying-towel/prod_154.html

I'm sceptical about most things, so when I read you can dry the entire car without wringing I didn't quite believe it. Well, bugger me sideways with a rusty camshaft, you can indeed do the entire car in one fell swoop. Best tenner I've spent on the car this year I think (y)

I think something like 215bhp should be attainable. GSR reckons more - we'll have to see.

hp figure is impressive, flywheel torque is 235-245lbs what are they expecting that to reach to in the final mapping stages?

i thought i read somewhere a while ago the ihi abarth turbo and forge intercooler gave someone 230lbs torque at the wheels, how can yours be similar wth the garrett

turbo technics flowed the red dots GPS std turbo to a hybird? maybe thats a options if your is dodgy? get it repaired and re worked? think they said it cost £250 (y)

when i spoke to turbo technics they quoted me 650 to bring the std turbo to handle 220bhp

if its £250 then stuff getting the abarth

Edit: heres a page from the site,

http://www.turbotechnics.com/turbo/hybridrange.htm

showing how much it costs for hyrbrids on average as i know the grande punto ihi isnt listed

I think they're talking about the 1.9 turbo re. the hybrid. I thought you ordered a serious bit of kit from Italy though grande bolt? Was a long time ago though.

I'm led to believe the internals are good for about 250bhp or so. Don't quote me on it though!

I did get turbo chatter with the original t-jet remap - the DV would dump but only at higher boost levels. Now I've got a better-suited map on there it's completely gone. The DV will open with the tiniest amount of boost, so no more chatter. Have no idea why the difference, but probably better for the turbo now!
