Revs have always rised. Ive got an ocasional judder though.

Clutch switch?
The simplest answer is that it tells the car when the clutch has been depressed and then it's up to the manufacturer to decide what they want to happen with that info.
On some cars then the starter won't be allowed to engage unless the clutch is depressed
On others it disconnects CC
It may be used to keep rpm up for smoother gearchanges, on others if you select "Sport mode" it may put rpm even higher during gearchanges
On some with auto engine shut off in traffic jams then it engages starter when you depress clutch
One day they may make it so it zaps your gonads if you drive around with your foot resting too heavily on the clutch all the time

Most definitely the best cure I have yet heard to stop 'shoeing the clutch'!
Also used to disengage the exhaust brake fitted to larger capacity diesel engines in commercial vehicles.

Juts a quick update
I completely removed the clutch switch today, drove around for a few miles and unlike shadeyman`s OK experience, mine was quite bad, clutch compression and gear changing was clunky and it definitely mad it worst
As for the unsual throttle experiecne, it was still there so the switch is going back on for now, if I can I will be plugging in to the ECU today or tomorrow and try to find some error codes.

I wonder why I got a different result to you.I'll be trying it again later today. I'll connect FES to the body computer and see if I get any error codes there as there were non in the engine ECU.

, like yourself I will also try to plug in my Ebay VAG COM 409.1 adaptor and hope that it can at least connect to the ECU to read the stored errors and the parameters of the car, lets wait an see :worship:Hey guys. Accidentally stumbled upon this thread with a similar problem on a Renault Megane 2 1.9dci. The car has a massive lack of power below 2500 rpm and it's jerking badly when i'm shifting. Makes my daily commute a living hell. Someone suggested replacing the clutch pedal position switch, but until next week I decided to just unplug the sensor. To my surprise, the car moves a little better under 2500 rpm, and the throttle response, even though a little erratic, is better. What do you guys make of this? The sensor is basically an on/off switch so I really don't see how it could break down.
Aside from the clutch switch, you could try cleaning the MAF sensor, the MAP sensor and cleaning out the EGR valve and see if that improves things.
On another note, with this clutch switch - is it programmed to to the ecu so that when you change gears it holds the revs a little to change gears a bit smotther? Sounds pretty cool, and if so then if you were to remap your car could you somehow also reprogramme that part of the ecu to move that point higher or just adjust it depending on your driving?
I know my mate had his mk4 R32 remapped by angel tuning and they programmed in this "flat shift" feature, sounds very similar - it just brings the revs up when you go to bring the clutch back up for your selected gear. by the sounds of things something similar can be done here.
