i need some advice,,,the rubber seal has split on my clutch slave cylinder, i can't remove the bolts on it to replace the cylinder (they are seazed) is it possible just to replace the rubber end? also because i've lost most of my brake fluid, do i need to drain my brakes or is it just a top up, any advice would appreciated.

you used to be able to years ago
but with present day manufacturing its best to renew the unit

slave cylinders seem to be service items on fiats, though later ones had them within the gearbox!

this is the bigger engines/diesels, at least.

though as to whether the reason it keeps failing is because of the dirt etc so putting it inside the gearbox makes it last longer perhaps? hmmmm
