General Clutch replacement?

Hi, would anyone please be able to tell me some of the symptoms that indicate a new clutch is needed in a dualogic 500 please?

Recently had a new selespeed (£££) and issue persisted, now garage is saying new clutch needed too!

Any advice/input appreciated. TIA!

It has been juddering and making a grinding sound every now and again when pulling off from a roundabout/ junction. And sometimes judders/ delays before a gear change.

The Dualogic system seems to be very kind to the clutch in my experience. We are at 80k miles original clutch, haven't laid eyes on the clutch but on MultiECU scan the clutch wear index is close to new. I would be inclined to check transmission next rather than clutch.
