Hi
The Gears are extremely difficult to select.
I have noticed the pedal has about an inch of movement before pressurizing. the excess travel appears to be in the master cylinder (JTD 2000).
Is this a common fault ( car has 101k miles)?
Any other ideas? prices?
Thanks

Did you get this sorted?
I am having exactly the same problem, clutch and slave have been replaced, due to get master done.

I had this once and all i had to do was remove the toy car from under the pedal the wee man had chucked there.

Did you read thread - clutch bite almost on the floor?

The common problem appears to be a weak or broken return spring for the master cylinder piston. It is easy to replace the spring and piston from within the car. But first put some clingfilm over the reservoir filler hole and tighten the cap back on, (removing after the job is done of course!). You can't get a repair kit so have to buy a new master cylinder from the stealer for about 48 quid, then dismantle it - its only a case of sliding out a plastic clip.

Unfortunately this repair did not bring my clutch bite off the floor. So I am having to live with it for the time being. HTH

cheers
