My clock occasionally resets to 0:00 and flashes first thing in the morning as if the power has been interrupted. The battery is fine and checked under load and the clock is flashing before I turn the starter motor over. I read on here that it could be E5 earth strap in the footwell. Where is it?. Any other ideas? maybe proxy alignment of the dash? I have registered multiecuscan but have an aftermarket stereo so not sure if it would do it? HELP!!!

Does the trip computer reset too? I had the same thing, battery seemed to be fine, then one day the battery died, I replaced it and never had the clock / trip reset issue again. I also had a poor cold start issue that was resolved with the new battery too.

The battery is only 6 months old so dont think its that. Also there is no issue with starting and the clock is flashing before cranking the engine and yes the trip resets. Surely the virtually new battery is ok?
