Panda (Classic) Cheaper than a 360 conrod.

Introduction

I have kept this quiet for months, but after 3 trains and one bus.

I picked her up. Only a 3 hour drive back.

A 1995 Selecta with 82k on the clock. :D

Shes a bit of a shed, and by bit I mean alot.
If it is the tap itself you will have to replace it, no bodges to be done. If you have the same fault as in my previous pic you may be able to get the disc to move by moving the control lever backwards and forwards quickly, then you could end up with a ' hot all the time'. New taps are available from Dealers here though.

I've just replaced a heater tap on a customers clx for the same reason, always hot.

I was intrigued to know why it stops working so I cut the old one open........

Got my tap from Fiat, not much more than the one on eBay.

Ok took the battery out, i moved the tap with my hand and the heat control on the dashboard was working, so it's not the cable.

It must be the tap? Vernon how much was it from main dealer?

Thar be one on ebay here

I bought one maybe 2 years ago now and still haven't gotten round to fitting it. I didn't pay that much though; I think I got it for a lucky price just under £10 new old stock kind of find.

Seeing as winter is fast approaching though you may want to jump on it at that price. Fortunately the heater is jammed on for me :D

That's for a mk1 though. Will it fit a mk2?

Erm, I can't see why that would have changed that but based on AM's comment maybe there is a difference! I must admit that I have not got round to fitting mine so maybe I bought the wrong one back then! Too dark to look now though so maybe if I get time after work tomorrow.

I'm 99% certain that will be the wrong type, looks much smaller and is the wrong colour, must be a mk1 type.

ok so I probably have the right one for my collection :p

I'll check the marbella one anyway tomorrow as that probably has the same as the mk2 and I do remember it being black instead of white as well.

Oh well, sorry looks like I might not be able to help then.

Gonna put a new thermostat in today, eurocarparts have a 31% off code, so it'd be rude not to.

No no no. Make sure its a genuine part! Pattern part thermostats tend to be nothing but problems, both from my experience, and that of many others on this forum.

Only about £15 inc gasket from Fiat iirc (y)

Too late, on the way back it was stop start traffic. It didn't hit 85, but it was lukewarm air. The second I went above 25mph it dropped instantly.

Ok new one is on, works better than the old one. I didn't drain the system properly, just whatever fell out I replaced. But, I lost a litre at the very most, I put 2 back in.

Trying to bleed the system, hardly anything came out of the radiator or bulkhead bleed, just a dribble.

Still no hot air. :(
