In a house
so who has done it?
been with Yorkshire bank for ages, and i now think they are crap, queue's, some fees that seem to be appearing more and more, not open on Saturday.

so the question is have you changed and what do you think of NatWest, Halifax

banks have to be the hardest thing i have tried to shop around for yet.

got another question is it illegal to have 2 current accounts, i fancy keeping my current account open to use on the net since it's already got the direct debits set up
#net says its ok

Barclays is Honestly the Don! Just walk into a branch and you will understand what I mean, I have been with Halifax, and lloyds tsb and they were both just poor, Barclays are safe and secure and don't have any hidden charges, just enquire about one trust me :D

barclays are looking OK
and Lloyd. need to compare branch locations as well another annoyance of Yorkshire bank.

i can see this becoming a very hard decision.

I have been with Barclays since around 1984

I have various accounts with them - including personal, savings, business and company accounts. I can't see myself moving away from them anytime soon.

I don't move my current account much though I did switch from Bank of Scotland (Halifax) to RBS (Natwest) to get a better deal when I was a student. RBS seem OK, the local branch is open Saturday mornings and their mobile phone app is pretty good for checking balances and moving between savings and my current account.
I do move my savings about though to ensure I get some interest.

its Clydesdale im having problems with (Yorkshire bank)

my question is if you had to queue on average how long does it take?

I do have a good story about them, I needed a debit card in Sheffield due to mine breaking. so asked if they could get it delivered to the branch to save me having to go to leeds.
got posted to my local branch then to sheff took a week. sour taste was i went for some cash from the till (using broken card for number) she dissapeared for 10 mins before telling me she is going to have to take my card cause of the other one. She could have just asked me, saved a build up of a massive queue.

(ignore below this)
massive queues, never put extra staff on, crap phone system (i know i can't dodge this one)
my local branch they have recently permanently closed a window. I'm just not getting on with them. and it triggered me today when i read this line on my statement "unplanned borrowing buffer" daily fee £25 on average it takes them 9 days to get a letter to me.
so potential to loose £225. bank statements are getting later and later, but still dated to first of the month. a lack of any interest.

got side tracked my question was going to be if you had to queue on average how long does it take? I needed a new paying in book it took 30 mins at 2pm. (i had left a request in the slip a month before)

I don't tend to go. Do all my stuff online.

They did take ages to give me the 4k I needed for my car. Gave plenty of notice and they were expecting me but still took 35 mins.

Can't be bothered changing would have to notify to o many companies.

I'm trying to swap over to First Direct, just need to find what manager it is at work to change my details over. With Halifax at the moment and they are useless, plus I have to go into town and pay £1.60 for a few minutes. Lloyds too, but hate the staff, never helpful, and wanted to charge me £27 for going 5p overdrawn! Only reason I'm still with them is because my contract comes out of there, and Police expenses gets paid into them, too much hard work to change.

Also have an account with Barclays, could close it, never use it. Might one day.
