Lloyd, I don't think the fuss is so much about the access panels as much as the size of one's hands. You're correct though that they do look much better than the standard yellow ones. Have you thought about changing the orange indicators for the chrome ones?

Ah, well it was probably easy for me because I've got skeletal hands, with long boney fingers. I'm told they're good for fitting bits to cars. And some 'other things'. :yum:

Will get the chrome bulbs for the indicators eventually too (y)

Lloyd do you have the details of the drl bulbs please :) they look a million times better, i have chrome indicators in the rear (see pic)

Thanks! I got them from this site;

http://www.priracing.com/product.ph...ite-t20-double-580-large-capless-27-8w--pair-

When I set off to work this morning I backed out of the garage and since it was pitch black I could see how they illuminated the area infront of me. The entire garage was glowing in a cool light blue colour! They really smarten the front up a massive amount, especially when viewed from an angle.

I've actually noticed since fitting them that a LOT more people pay attention to the car now! I've had loads of admiring glances and people taking a look since fitting these!

Swapped my DLR bulbs today for the PIAA ones

They really smarten the car up IMO! Only took 5 minutes to fit them with the wheels turned too, don't know what all the fuss is about using the access panels, it was a doddle as long as you ignore the manual's instructions to turn it clockwise!

Looks good :) I need to get some of those for my car because mine looks so yellow compared to my HIDs.

xXxXx

When Ollie put my HIDs in he had to take my whole bumper off and take light fittings out, as it's not easy like other cars where you can just plug them straight in.

I'd wait until you have the Abarth, waste of money otherwise

Fitting new bulbs was very easy for me, 5 min job. Open the bonnet, pull the rubber covers off, take the bulb units out (just a clip and some wires), take the old bulbs out and replace them then put it all back in.

The rear of the lights are very easy to access (y)

It is a job best undertaken with people with "lady hands", which I too have.

I actually managed to drop on of my DLR bulbs inside the light, had to resort to my "magnet on an aerial" to retrieve it.

4-kin-hell £28  they do look good though

Thats what I thought too. So thats why I opted for the MTEC £6.99 version. The photo below shows the difference the MTEC bulbs make on my GP. The whiter bulb is a philips blue vision. I'm hoping the MTEC's will be the same on the DRL's of the 500, I'll put photos up around 1st March.

so as i look at this pic the light on the left is the mtec bulb ?

Yeah, the one on the left is the MTEC bulb as you look at the photo. It is a 501 sidelight bulb which is a much smaller bulb than the T20 that the 500 takes, but I imagine the output will be similar. I pick my car up next sunday so will put the bulbs in for you to see.

Alex,

Thanks for that link for the DRL bulbs... a lot cheaper than the other links further up... but I'm interested to see the results... I ordered some and am still waiting for them to arrive...... they were apparently posted on Monday. I will also post up a pic when they're in.

I have also put Philips Extreme Power bulbs in the dipped beams and Osram Nightbreakers as replacements for the full beams... a _much_ better output and we can see where wer're driving at night now... a real bonus! ;-)
