central locking

i av an 1.8 hlx 1996, key lights up but doesn't do owt. is this for central locking.
if so is there a fuse i can check???

i had a circuit board that didn't work in that key

swapped key circuit board from another one (did this as switch is only on 1 circuit board and i had to take this off and solder it on to other one) and it worked, tested it with hotwire via screw driver before hand.
