Help

Got up this morning Frost all over the car, divers side wouldn't unlock. So i unlocked on the passengers side, drove to work went to lock it on the drivers side, no luck, locked it on the passengers side ok. i wenrt back to the drivers side and it unlocked and locked again, then unlocked but only the drivers side, the central locking wasn't working.

Got to pay out for a servicce and to have a new steering colum switch fitted this week so it's not put me in a very good mood!!!!!

Can anyone help, it it easy to fix, is it cheap, can i get the required bit easily from a scrappy???

Any help is Soooooo appreciated

Thanks

Steve

Start with bying some WD-40 and spray little bit of it into keyholes and lots into locking mechanisms. Probably just some water got into mechenisms ant blocked electronic switch that senses door closing/opening. WD-40 could help with it. If not... Than bad luck: open door panels and check all of the wiring going into the locks.

Check the connectors on the doors when U open them.

If you do a lot of locking/unlocking in a short space of time, the system gets confused. You must let it rest for a little while, to reset itself.

Thanks for all your advise guys, hopfully it just needs leaving for a while. I'll find out at lunch time, If not i'm replacing my door cards this weekend anyway.

Thanks

Thank god.......... i don't have to pay out any more money.

Got back to the car for lunch and it opened both doors fine. Thanks for the advise.

I've had this before. Had to open passenger side and pull the handle on the drivers door. Only problem then is that the door wouldn't stay shut again as the actual mechanism had frozen in position.

Thankfully I now have a garage. :)
