I would think it would be the standard 5 cd Blaupunkt unit that Fiat uses. Ask your dealer, they'll know the best thing to do. The unit does fit in the upper glove box.
Well as a factory option it comes in around £250 I think so I guess it would be in that region. Because you are doing it after market it might not go in the upper glove box unless they change the inside of it (when it is mounted the glove box is halved in two by a divider).
This is assuming of course that the head unit can handle a cd changer! Does it have a CD or CDC button or any related functions? It might say in the handbook about whether you can mate the head unit to a changer.
thanks for the help mr.wonder but the crystal green 1.6 dynamic (11 months old) i put a deposit on was bought at the same time by someone else, dont know how, but ive secured steel grey 1.6 dynamic(subject to viewing it)17 months old whitch im told has a cd player in. On new stilos do the cd players come as a head unit or as a tape deck with a multi changer?
I have the standard upgrade ones. I have now managed to kerb my front left alloy twice now! [!][!] While Fiat are nice enough to put lovely Pirelli tyres on my new Stilo they don't fit ones with rim-protecting ridges like I had on my last Punto. Two kerbings in the first 6 days of having the car, not a good start (I'm trying to be so careful too!).
I suspect you will just get a cd head unit, I dont think there is a tape option at all on the Stilo. It's so 90's dahling!
I fancy the oxygen 2 17s but never heard of rim-protecting ridges. what size profile are on your tyres? Me thinking of 215-40. will this effect speedo?
No sure about it effecting the speedo. Yes, some tyres have ridges built in to the side walls which protect the rim of your alloy meaning you can't kerb it unless you try really hard. It is well worth having them. I think the tyres are 45 profiles.
Thanks for help. Only 9 days now till get my stilo cant wait to get it. now doubt i will be asking more questions once ive got it. Is there any meets coming up?
I have the 17" alloys from the sporting accessory book (Brio?) they have 3 spokes & each spoke splits into two like a sexy shaped spanner head & they look the absolute dog's.Tyre size is 215 x 45 Blagged these free from the dealer as a complete seperate set with tyres when I bought the car so I can have a winter set (Orig Equip) for when they're spreading salt on the roads & my nice ones for the good weather months. If your paying cash for your wheels the standard 17" upgrade wheels don't come close to the looks of these.
Good Luck & happy Motoring
