Hi,
I wasnt able to find a direct or similar question to what i am facing with my car, maybe i wasnt looking hard enough. but anyway i have a grande punto 2006 1.2 and the car just wont start. the AA bump started my car and told me take it to the garage and leave it there for them to sort it out, the AA guy said it was a starter motor issue which i told the garage about. when the looked over the car they said the starter motor had oil which they replaced but still didnt work. then the said it could be a fuse box issue which the replaced but still nothing. the electrics do turn on and now they have said it could be a ecu issue. ive read in some places it could be a clutch sensor issue which just needs to be replaced but not sure. anyone have any idea what it could be and how it can get sorted.

Thanks

Two thoughts:
1. Have they checked for any codes? That might give you a hint as to what's going on
2. Our GPs have a nasty habit of the power and earth cables corroding at the end terminals. Have you/they checked all the big wires to/from the battery, earths and starter? (careful of course in doing so, you should disconnect the battery first in case something is really bad)

Apologies for the late response, so they have checked the cables and have said they are fine, not sure about if they checked any codes but I would think they have done so, I called them up and they said that it could be a fuse box near the starter motor that needs replacing
