I have a Fiat Punto mk2 2000 plate, since buying its never been the best of runners. It got to the point where it wouldnt start up at all until the plugs were cleaned, getting fed up of this i bought new HT leads and plugs hoping this would cure it, nope. Ive had friends round with diagnostic kit, only to not be able to get into the codes. I then decided enough was enough and got the garage to pick it up and have a look. They diagnosed it as a loose connection to the fuse box, fair enough...£92!!! Sat in the car and turned the key, without touching the accelerator the car was racing with revs. Drove it about and home and left it for a few hours, went back to the car and it again wouldnt start, opened the fuel tank up and noted they had not connected it properly hence fuel everywhere. Reconnected it and tried again, its just wouldnt start, tried bumping it and wore the starter motor out. Replaced the starter and it fired first time, me being an idiot decided that was it, left it for a few hours, went back to take it for a run and again it wouldnt start. Is there anything simple im missing here? Plugs are wet, fuel pumps working, plugs are sparking, batterys fully charged...and help would really help

really hard to give a definitive answer without seeing car

but it would appear you have too much fuel pressure and garage have bodged something

Pressure relief valves somewhere not working
or the fuel pressure rail sensor not reading correctly

But wet plugs could be because its not starting

Suspect Crank sensor? With FES it might show up, but if its getting a strong spark on all plugs that kinda contradicts it.....

more diagnostics needed, like was it timed up properly? is the phlonic wheel in the correct position? who knows without getting some hands on it
