Can Someone Please Help Me!?!?

i have a wireless net connection, a whilst "surfing the net" this morning i had "spyware" install itself onto my pc, now i have security toolbar 7.1 at the top of the internet page and i cant save a website as my homepage!!

plus i have different sites asking me to pay $50 to clear these so called "malicious threats" from my pc!!!

so can someone help me out, and tell me what i can do, i saw a similar thread on the FF suggesting spyblaster, but that protects againt viruses etc. but i dont seem to be able to get rid of the ones on my pc already!!!!!!

stuart demon, THANKYOU SO much!! the link you gave sorted out my problem, ive had so many problems woth my internet, and this was one more that i didnt want to have to go through!
