General Can newer generation 69bhp engine be swapped instead of 60 hp engine?

Just out of curiosity, i was thinking if the less powerful engine can be swapped with more powerful one ? Or with the panda 3 or Fiat 500 motor ? Example if 2004 square oil cap engine needs replacement, can it be replaced by 2013 and newer engine, as they are more powerful, what all things needs to be replaced ?

Having used that engine in a hired Fiat 500 I would not bother. It makes a touch more when revved but you are always having to shift down to make progress. You would be better doing some work on the cylinder head and manifolds. Insurance permitting of course.
The Punto Mk2 Sporting had 75bhp.

This is an utterly pointless upgrade which is absolutely 100% not worth doing.

The difference in performance is nowhere near as great as the headline power figure would suggest.

In fact, the 60HP unit actually produces more power than the 69HP one below 3500 rpm. The older unit is more flexible, cambelt safe and many of us here, myself included, think it's the better engine of the two.

If you search this forum for a post by David Bliss, you'll find a real world dyno comparison of the two engines.

In practice, you'd be hard pressed to tell the two engines apart if driven side by side.

If you want more power in a Panda, get a 100HP (or the mechanically identical 1.4 500).

To meet ever tightening emissions rules, the engine needed a facelift. But, recovering the performance losses led to a worsening driveability. The 100HP offers better power, but for day to day use the 1.2/60 does just fine.

Any engine "can" be tuned check out the Cinqeucento and Punto Mk2 forums, but its not low cost and you'd probably not want to begin with the ordinary Panda.

Chali either has a fleet of 10 similar cars .. or one VERY tired panda.

Guys! i am not talking to do swap, but if some one does it, what all parts would be changed, like wiring harness, sensors ,ecu , drive shafts etc ??

Mechanically its probably quite a simple swap.
(1) Remove engine and gearbox as a lump.
(2) Swap the engine.
(3) Put the lump back into the car.

But, you would need all of the ancillary components (Air box, ECU, sensors, wiring loom, etc) from the new engine meaning you'd need to find a crashed car to collect the necessary parts.

A huge amount of work for no actual benefit.
