anyone know if the camshaft out of a punto 55 1.1 would be ok for a 999 fire engine I know its got the 8.0mm lift as opposed the the 7.1 the standard 999 offers finding it hard to get a 4x4 one, fuel pump might be an issue cant remember if its an electric fuel pump on the punto,s mechanical on the panda thanks dave

good point if they have the slot for the dizzy, not sure if pump runs of a lobe or not, got a scrap cam will have a look in morning see if I can work it out thanks a lot regards dave

so I can use a mk1 8v punto cam on a 999 fire engine panda cos its got the slot for the dizzy the lobe to work the mechanical fuel pump only after using the extra cam lift of 8mm as opposed to 7.1 thanks dave , not sure when you say a hole has to be drilled for the fuel pump pin in my case its off the lobe which you say is present on the early punto cams thanks lads get there in the end

As you are intending to use your original head and only want to change the cam you don't have to worry about drilling a hole, you already have one.
I have a Selecta engine in the workshop which will be the same as the Punto 55 so will try and remember to look tomorrow and see if the lobe to drive a mechanical fuel pump is on it.

I'd be surprised if the lobe's there. Had a look at the 999 SPi engine in my garage a while back to see if it was any good to fit and even that is missing the pump lobe.

had another look at that cam liquid knight sent me, that hasn,t got the cam lobe on to work the pump so god knows what that is off, as well having a blunt lobe, only 7.1 lobe height, no fuel pump lobe I,m a bit annoyed to say the least thanks for your info greatly appreciated regards dave
