Hi

Does anyone know the best & cheapest place to get a cam belt kit? Mine hasn't been done and it looks quite old. I am scared it is going to go & don't want to spend a fortune!

Anyone got any good ideas??

Where abouts in the country are you caroline?

I know an excellent mechanic in Shropshire who fitted my last cambelt for £150. His son also has a diagnostic computer with barchetta software which he charges peanuts for using.

Caroline. Suggest you just get it done. If your mileage is over 40,000 go to the nearest garage as soon as you can. I learned the hard way. I paid £2700 for new engine and labour when my cam belt failed.

If DTR is too far a trek for you, Black & White Garage in Cold Ash, near Newbury, Berkshire is very close to the junction of the A34 & the M4 and do excellent work. Worth a call for a quote.
