No belt to worry about on the Multijet.. We have a timing chain which should be good for 200,000 + miles if the oil is changed to shcedulei have the multijet,
as for the 8V fire, I wouldn't bother for a good 10 years (safe engine) and 16V fire I did my self a couple of times on a 1.2 Brava - it's not so hard as long as it all goes back as removed - just don't loosen the cam gear nut as it's not keyed - so a mirical is needed to set it... suppose the financial risk is not comparible on a £1000 car (5 tears ago).
