So the Stilo might be going shortly

I really need something with 5 doors and something good on fuel and cheap to buy (don't want much, I know).

Going to have a look at a mundano tdci tomorrow

Even if the Stilo doesn't go this time it definitely will be soon. My little lad weighs approximately the same as the moon and every time I have to lift him into the child seat in the back I can feel my spine trying to come out of my @rse

Get an Abarth 5 door like mine!

May not be cheap on fuel but it's got 5 doors and the Abarths are going cheap at the moment

How old is your little one?

Ive got a 3dr abarth, doesnt hurt my back at all. We had a 3dr punto before and that hurt my back but the stilo isnt too bad as I can actually get in and buckle him up whereas with the punto there wasnt enough room.

My son weighs a lot, hes only 13 months but probably about the size of an 18month+ old.

Im holding out as long as I can, but Im sure the day will come when I have to join the 5 door massive.

As for a 5 door abarth, wasnt there one in the autotrader that someone linked to for like £1995 or something like that.

I don't know how cheap JTD's are these day but I'd have have thought everything is

...and just has be more fun than having a Mondeo stuck on the drive

My back is quite feeble after knackering it up a while back. My little lad is 16 months and built like a tank.

I know access to the rear seats of the stilo isn't all that bad at all, but it is getting more and more difficult.

I don't think an Abarth is going to solve my running cost issues though

few points from me:

1st of all, as soon as your little un starts walking (about 2 yrs old)
they will just climb into the back of a 3 door by themselves! (thats my argument for an audi tt with my 3 and 4 yr olds) and my mrs drives a c3 pluriel (3 door cabriolet) and have no issues, on top of my 3 door abarth

also a number of expert car reviewiers; honest john etc are now giving the advice that a diesel car shouldnt really be thought of as a cheap car to buy and run,

diesel is more to buy at the pump,
theres a premium on the car itself,
and when things do go wrong theyre generally more expensive to fix than the more simpler petrol engines

Could definitely do with having your car Argo. Especially considering how reliable it's been.
Not really any diesels around anywhere near me. I'd love one though - wish I'd bought one in the first place

We're planning baby number 2 so it won't be all that long, and I've got a new job that requires me to drive alot further every day, so I can justify having a diesel.
I would have liked to have found a multiwagon TBH but there's none around.

However if the right Fiat badged car turns up after the Stilo is gone then the mondeo or whatever else I end with can soon be swapped

Just had a look and you're right. If I had £2500 I'd definitely be having it. However I haven't worked since September so funds are a bit low and I will be moving house in a few weeks so money is going to be very tight for a while.
Also I'm having to p/x my own car to get another one.

That Stilo looks like it will be a great buy for somebody
