Tell me about it, my socks were fine, I kept feeling the glass and it was cold, I put my clothes in, first batch of water, luke warm, fine, next lot, ONLY hot water went in, I immediately twist the huge handle switch for it to go off, then opened the door, now have all wet and half washed clothes, some possibly ruined (brand new lambswool jumper from M&S looks the worst off :() **** :(

I should have just gone to a laundret. I was hoping it was the screen broken, afterall, loads of people keep using it.

Yes 40 joe, always has been but over the holiday it was switched off and on, now days 100, i was led to believe it was a faulty screen.

nah the jumper is even tumble drier safe! Hence why I bought it. You don't have to dry clean lambswool.

Ben, at 100 degrees the machine JUST uses hot boiling water!

I have an AEG washing machine and we have had it for 6 years now with twins and a new baby... It is exceptional never gone faulty and washes perfectly. It is not a top of the range but I am impressed! Last one (Zanussi) lasted 18 months :(

learn something everyday, although i have ruined a very expensive gift (lambswool jumper) before by letting my mum (hehe) wash it. Came out all bobbly and smaller :bang: (n)

This is a industrial style one, the temperature switch is a locked switch, I told the woman on tuesday that it's stuck on 100, she said she would have it dealt with, meanwhile I went to use the one on the other "wing" - sadly, it nicked my money and didn't switch on. This was my last attempt, i was down to my last underwear.

I now have sodden clothes all in my room which will stink tomorrow (didn't get to spin cycle after second soaking) and soaked clothes in the tumble drier, f-ing hell.

I just tumble dried cashmere socks...they are all bobbly now :( But still the same size... :D

Nope, it says non-bio (which I bought specially) and tumble drier, that's why I bought it, oh and it's a nice jumper :D

As I see it, handwashing would have left me the same problem, sodden clothes.

Also, my washing basin is smallish.

Do I really have to take a photo of the label?!

"100% lambswool, wash at 40 degrees, do not use enzyme/bio based washing agents"

Damn, you don't believe the labels do you! They are there to fool the common man into recking the garment so a new one needs to be bought!

Handwashing is overrated. Everything can be done in a machine if its on a gentle enough setting. :)
