Nah. I can't afford to run 2 cars, plus I wouldn't have anywhere to keep it: I have to park my Grande Punto on the high street, not down my road! :/
I know the feeling, I briefly had 2 cars, one parked about 7-8min walk from where I was living and the other parked a further 10mins away, fun times ;)
I'd give anything for a heated 2 car garage.

Saving a Daewoo Matiz?

For what?

I guess if it has a sunroof you can use it for a barbecue.

MkII Punto's will be getting rare soon as I reckon nearly every single power steering motor will have failed by now (thank you GM). MkI Punto's are already rare and if you look at how 1.6 Sporting, Cabriolet and GT prices have gone in the last twelve months MkII's might just about be affordable. Having said that the only MkII worth looking out for is the HGT and I have a more practical version of that car that handles better, is already rarer and doesn't have a ticking timebomb on the steering rack right here. ;)

I'd buy Adiran's Bravo if I had to find one now. :D

My first car was a 2001 Daewoo Matiz SE Plus. In fact, it was the car I learnt to drive and passed my test in! Ever since, I've had a fondness for them, and I always will do. Also, don't forget that Giugiaro originally designed the Matiz for Fiat, lol! ;)

Personally, I think all mk2 Puntos are worth saving: the styling is beautiful, the engines were lovely, and if looked after, they're very reliable. I think the pas system was sorted out tbh: from what I understand, Fiat fitted an improved motor after it became apparent the original could be problematic. It's genuinely sad that mk2s have reached the age where they're starting to leave the road in vast numbers. :(

I was offered three the other day. All 1242cc 8V, two had five doors the other had three, two MOT'd, all had knackered power steering, W-reg, 52-reg and 54-reg for £50

Tempted but I have no space. ;)

I'm browsing Ebay for some new shocks for my harsh-riding Brava 1.2 (KYB Excel-G fitted 8 years ago), and I came across these that you might consider treating the yellow meanie to...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-QH-R...220217?hash=item2ca6c0e439:g:ytYAAOSwBahU-HPu

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-QH-F...289135?hash=item4887ff1f2f:g:UfYAAOSwBahU8It~

Could give it that final freshen for pretty modest cost? I bet they'd combine postage...

It seems that all 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and ordinary 1.7 / 1.9 D models use the same shocks, but the 1.8 and 1.9 TD use these different ones.

Cherry blossom. Lovely on the tree, not so much on your car. ;)

New tyres on their way. :)

I may need to sell the Bravo so I can concentrate on my Coupe. That car has a longer shopping list than expected. :(

So you've gone wider? I don't think I would have.... more inertia, less acceleration, reduced economy, no real (??) performance benefit. And the energy rating on those Michelins is shocking!

Talking of shocks, I guess you won't be renewing with those Ebay ones? I've just ordered some bargain Gabriels for the Brava, I think my newish KYBs are completely useless now for some reason. (n)

They were a lot cheaper than advertised. ;)

I'm undecided about the Bravo so I may get those shocks yet. :)

Fair enough. But do you really want to part with it? ;)

Due to Adrians Bravo I've tried advertising elsewhere with no avail. As a sum of the parts the old girl owes me close to a grand but a tired looking, beaten up old Bravo with no MOT is only worth £300 tops.

Time for another plan. ;)
