Technical Broken Door Stay Arm!

Hi guys,

My mother opened my passenger door a little too hard tonight and has snapped the door stay arm!

I found a previous thread about this problem but not much info.

Does anyone know the proper name for this part? Is it easy to replace yourself? Also, is there a "how-to" on the net anywhere on how to replace this part?

Finally, my MoT is coming up in 2 weeks, is this an MoT failure?

Can't help you to much unfortunatly but I believe its called a 'door stop'.

Don't think its an MOT failure either as loads of landrover defenders that I know of like this.

Just be careful it doesn't swing open and catch the wing though.

Have a look at Rich's post here, save yourself a lot of time, others have almost taken their door apart before they realised there is no need and access through the speaker hole is easy
