bravo losing power -please help!

I'v noticed quite a few people have this problem with fiats. Can anyone suggest any way of solving the problem? It loses power usually in second/third gear when changing speed or dropping gear to go round sharp corners. It chugs and feels like its losing power as though the engine is starved of petrol. The warning light has started flashing too.Could there be crap being drawn from the fuel tank or the EGR valve blocked. As we dont intend to keep the car much longer and skint we need to fix it ourselves or atleast make sure it runs for the next two months.
The first stumbling block is we don't know where the carburetor is and dispite looking at the diagrams we cant find the EGR either.
Could anyone please help by explaining where the hell these parts are or even if we are trying to fix the wrong parts!!??

First of all what engine is the bravo ?
EGR is only on diesels.
Injection light can be 100 of stuff so you will need a diagnostic check.

carburettor ??? You mean injectors ?

Thanks for your reply...well its petrol engine so i suppose i sepnt 2 hours looking for something that wasnt there hey?! Think i need to let the experts have a look -just didnt want to spend money on a car we only need for the next two months! Thanks anyway

its a x reg-1.3 engine by the way

1.3 ?

There are 1.2; 1.6; 1.8; 2.0 engines inside.
But I presume you are talking about the 1.2.

The lack off power may be due to clogged injectors, due to that petrol cleaner treatment can do no harm. What other stuff goes, a diag check would be the best option.

I might be wrong but isn't the throttle body a weakness on some 1.2 16v cars? It is possible to remove and clean but you would do well to get it diagnosed first.
