Hi all,

Just wanting a definitive answer on the above service intervals. I'm led to believe it's now 18,000 miles? Does anyone know if this is correct??

I got the car roughly 17 months ago, when the mileage was around 12,000. It received a full service prior to me getting it, there is a service stamp in the book. I was told by the salesperson that the car wouldn't require another service till the 30,000 mile mark, which tends to bear out the 18,000 mile service interval.

This week I've reached the 30,000 mile mark and right on cue a spanner has appeared on the display telling me that a service is due.

However, I've just phoned my local Fiat dealer to book the car in and some service person, after asking me the vehicle registration, is telling me that I've missed a service, so the £189 there asking for the service might cost more because further work might be required due to me supposedly missing a service. I certainly haven't knowingly missed a service!

Are they trying to rip me off here or what?

I would appreciate any thoughts/advice on this matter.

Regards - Shaun

shaun,

From the handbook:

The “Service schedule” includes car
maintenance every 30,000 km (or 18,000
miles) or every year; this is shown automatically,
with the ignition key at MAR,
starting from 2,000 km (or equivalent value
in miles) or 30 days from this deadline
and it is shown again every 200 km (or
equivalent value in miles). Below 200 km
servicing indications are displayed more
frequently. Servicing indication will be displayed
in km or mi according to previous
setting. When a programmed maintenance
interval (coupon) is near to come, turning
the ignition key to MAR, the display will
show the message “Service” followed by
the number of km/mi or days to go before
car servicing. Contact a Fiat Dealership to
carry out any service operation provided
by the “Service schedule” and to reset the
display.
