I’ve recently brought a 2011 multi air turbo 135bhp . After a few days it went into limp mode with a p0016 code.
Have replaced cam sensor , and also replaced timing belt (old one was 2 teeth out)
The fault still won’t clear so a bit lost now .
Car starts and drives smoothly still apart from the restricted power.
Any ideas what to do next . Is investing in multiecuscan going to help me any way Compared to just a normal code reader ?

I assume you have no warranty? Private purchase?

You say the timing was out how do you know that unless you have used the official timing tools. These mount on the crankshaft pulley end AND you have to remove the brake servo vacuum pump to locate the camshaft timing plate onto the cylinder head / block.

Yes private sale , limp mode started 3 days after sale and seller doesn’t want to know. Yes used the correct timing tools and slackened the cam pulley when doing the tensioner up to the correct alinement. Pulled it apart again last night to double check the timing is correct and can firm it lines up bang on
