Brava turning over but not starting

I have a 1.2 16v 2001 brava which won't start it started off a while ago I could start it drive somewhere park up for a while and then when I went to start it it would not go it would turn over but would not start I can bump start it very easily so I don't know what's up with it. I replaced the battery a couple of months ago so can't be anything to do with that. When it is turning over it seems like its going to go but it seems like it does not have enough power to fully engage the starter because when it does everything dies for that split second then it just turns over again. Is there anybody else with the same problem or anybody have an idea what it could be?

Alternator maybe. Have you had the starter motor looked at at all?

It's not the alternator as battery is holding its charge going to have a look at the starter

Check for poor earthing

often when a motor turns once - pauses and then turns over again its made worse by having a poor earth

to Check - stick a Negative jump lead from the battery (neg terminal) to the cars engine mount

And try then

if it turns over quickly and easily
its a simple remove - clean refit job with the battery off
