Hi everyone, I'm about to change my brake pads and I've just bought the parts.
I noticed that two of the pads have a metal clip on the back, which I assume is meant to indicate pad wear.
I just wanted to understand if there are any specific things I should keep in mind when installing this type of pad. I haven't tried yet, but it seems that in this case I can't just rest the pads on the bracket and lower the caliper over them, since the clip needs to be inserted into the piston.
Do I have to insert the pad directly into the caliper instead of placing it on the bracket?
How can I tell if it's been inserted correctly? Is it enough for it to just sit inside, or are there things I need to be careful about?
Thanks in advance, everyone!

P.S. If you can link me a video that helps clarify this, I'd really appreciate it.

Assuming they are the correct ones for your model, what I do is fit the plain one on the outside of disc and the one with spring clip I usually put a little coppers slip grease or similar on the clip the press it/ease it into the piston of caliper so as caliper is swung into place it slides over the disc.
Note I said swung as I only undo one caliper bolt if it allows, usually the lower one as less pull on the brake hose.
That design of pad is also used on Fords.
Note they are not a wear indicator, merely a way of locating that inner brake pad into the caliper piston.:)
When you undo the caliper bolt and swing it out of the way, providing there isn't a wear groove on brake disc it will bring the inner brake pad out with the caliper, so you simply pull it off the piston.
The outer is removed and refitted in normal way.
