Hi everyone,

I am a Mechatronics student and I’m currently struggling with the VP1 (Uconnect 3" non-touch) head unit on a Fiat Doblo 263 Facelift. I’m trying to enable the AUX input to connect a Bluetooth module, but I've hit a wall.

What I have done so far:

  1. I used MultiEcuScan (MES) with an SGW Bypass cable.
  2. I set the "Aux-in function" to "Enabled" and successfully performed a Proxy Alignment. (The odometer is NOT flashing, and the alignment was successful).
  3. I identified the 4-pin layout on the back: AF-L, AF-R, AF-GND, and AUX-DET.
  4. I bridged AUX-DET to GND (tried both directly and with a 470-ohm resistor).
The Problem:Even though the AUX menu is now visible in the source list after the Proxy Alignment, it doesn't actually work. There is no sound passing through, and the unit seems to ignore the input. Furthermore, if I turn off the ignition and wait for about 15 minutes (deep sleep), the AUX menu disappears entirely from the list.

It seems like a dual issue:

  1. The software is "Enabled" but the hardware input isn't being "opened" or "triggered."
  2. The configuration isn't persistent after a power cycle/deep sleep.
