Technical Boot Solenoid...

Hi guys,

Can someone tell me where the best place to get a boot solenoid is? The boot will no longer open when I push the buttons. How much am I looking at for the part? I can fit it myself.

I was going to ask fiat but they might sting me with a high price

DIY fitment time 10 -15 mins tops...

undo boot handle close screw (in the handle you shut boot with)

get fingers in the edge of boot trim card and pull sharply take care when releasing round boot catch...


use a 10mm socket or spanner to undo 2x boot catch bolts


unplug cable and re assemble in reverse order..

Yeah I have already had it out so that I could go to the dismantlers to see if I could get one.

Is this a common fault with the GP? As there seemed to be none left in any of the GP's in the yard! :-(

Oh yes..

Before you buy new flood it with wd40

Does it work? if so

Fit it and smother it with wax oil

Get it out of the car and get wd in any gap you can
