Hi there so I’ve got a fiat punto evo 2010 and I’ve notice in my boot it’s fills with water only thing I can work out is that it’s only the side of the boot that are wet like the edges ?? Also the seat belt behind the driver is now becoming very wet for some reason can someone help with this

Hello,

If the car does not have a sunroof / panoramic roof the first things to blame would be the light cluster or the boot seals.

I'd open the boot, take a bottle of water and start to pour slowly on the back of the roof. And look how the water gets inside.

Perhaps there's a weak spot on those models, but I have no idea.

Hi thank you so much for the reply .. my fiat does have a sun roof … ive been trying to find out this problem for a while due to the water build up in the boot …
But it all started with my foot well being wet behind my passages chair then I did a couple things and this never happened again it was then water in my boot where my spare tyre would be and that’s not so bad but still happens but the side of my boot are wet like I stated not in the middle there right at the side and there no wet patches coming on the side or anything and then last week I got my little boy in the car and his seat belt was drenched and I was like wow what how is that possible and then pulled his booster chair up and the seat is a little damp under there … so am so confused by it all I thought could it possible be the boot seal so I’ve ordered a new one of those but the seatbelt being wet is the most recently

Every sunroof has several drains (usually for, one in each corner). They are ment to evacuate water from under the sunroof down to the inside of the fenders.

It's a small hole with a hose attached to it. It happens that dirt builds up or the hose falls down from the stud. Cleaning might be tricky, as applying too much pressure (water, air or a brush) can detach the hose, too. But it is a thing that one can and should do on a regular basis.

I've checked also over the internet and here on the forum and there are a couple threads + 2 videos you could check:

I think all of them are worth checking.

Good luck :)
