Not sure if its just my car but does the dynamic spec have a electric release for the boot other than the keyfob.
i.e the boot handle is electric like the multipla's one:confused:
have heard that some dynamics have it fitted?
not sure if mine's bust or didnt have it fitted:(

Question for you lot!
Does it need fixing or is it an options thing that i didnt pay for!!
Is the boot handle on active spec and dynamic spec just for show:confused:
or is it an option to have the power unlock electric gubbins on the higher spec models? i know that the emotion has the keyfob boot unlock.

just want to know as its going in for other things and can get them to have a look at it at the same time.
reply before thurs with any info would be great.
cheers lads and lasses(y)

Electric release is standard over here ( Fr ). Hold that release button down for >5 seconds to pop the boot. Should just be able to grab the boot handle and it should do the same. If not, you have a prob.

It is also a common fault on the some of early Pandas that there was manufacturing plastic rattling around in the hatch, which can end up in the boot handle. If you suffer from that one, get them to fix it under warranty. If out of warranty, get your screwdriver set out.

I have a 55 reg 4x4 UK car. That's supposedly based on the Dynamic spec according to the dealer ...and that has the remote boot release on the keyfob but it also works directly on the boot itself. It actually makes me wonder what it's for...I mean you still have to grab hold of the boot handle to actually open the boot after you have pressed the button down to make it release/semi-open the boot.

Bottom line is..if you have the button on the keyfob I would expect you to have the button on the boot handle rather than the manual boot button on the lower spec cars.....

i just have the standard key, no button. I need to find a panda owner that has the normal key and has the power boot handle option. then i have proof that i should have it, as i dont think it is an option.
do active boots have this function???

I have a Dynamic Aircon 54 reg which has the large remote central locking keyfob with three buttons and retractble metal piece which folds into the fob, and the active handle on the boot. My spare back up key is just a normal solid key. But as I have mentioned before I think this is an extra feature only available on 'Dynamic Aircon' or 'Dynamic Sound' models (or even Dynamic Skydome) like the electric mirrors or roof bars that are also added. The specs vary according to which Dynamic model. I don't think the 'standard' Dynamic has this fitted, it only has the solid key with locking done manually through the door like on the Active?

I have a Dynamic SkyDome (March 2004) and up until recently the boot was unlocked when I used the top button (of 3) on the key fob. All of a sudden that button stopped unlocking the boot and the only way to open it now is to use the key manually or the bottom (third) button on the key fob. Fiat dealer assured me there was no problem - this is what should have happened from new - NOT SO!

Oscar, I found this on a dutch site:
Het eerste mankement(je) heeft zich onlangs gemanifesteerd in de vorm van het niet meer kunnen openen van de achterklep na gebruik van de centrale electrische ontgrendeling. Als de knop op de afstandsbediening voor de achterklep alleen werd gebruikt ging deze wel open. [..] Men vertelde mij dat de ’grondplaat’ van het slot enigszins los zat en dat deze weer goed vastgezet was door de monteur.

Somebody with the same problem went to the service and got it fixed. Turned out that the "base plate of the lock was loose and was fixed by the mechanic" and that, allegedly, solved the problem. Hope it helpes.

Thanks for that. Just waiting to see if I get a reply from Fiat customer services before I do anything else. It's really annoying not to be able to open the boot while the engine's running - ie key in ignition!

Stops w*nkers stealing from your boot at traffic lights though;)
