Boot build questions

Hi all,
Im building a boot build for my cinq, basically its sub in the spare wheel well in an mdf sheet so its flat in the boot.. But apparently this wont sound right because its not in a box, is this true ?
I bought some kind of fusion amp and a 10inch splx 240w subwoofer/speaker

The sub needs a box definitly. I have built a box in my spare wheel bay i will go grab the thread and post the link here.

hi, if your any good with fiberglass you could make a mould of that, it can be alot of work but the finished product will be worth it would be sealed too so will sound ok

This is my build. There are loads of pics of the enclosure put in there. I am using massive air space though so should be easier with your sub.
