the pic on the left, take the two bolts out, and remove the whole thing.
you should be able to see how it all goes together, i've had mine off and on a few times, but its awkward unless removed 1st. the hanlde literally just pops on the the base, very easily.
And you realy shouldn't struggle at all :)

Thanks for that

firstly does it matter that a bit has snapped off pic 1, (look on the right hand side)

and secondly i thought the handle(pic 2) has to first go through the sill

Thanks again

Kev

upon looking at your pic again, it looks like you have a whole section missing, ie, the bit which goes between the base and handle.
yes the handle goes on after the sill, it should just pop on...

the handle does go on and off quite easily,
it should do anyway,
so long as your trying to pop it in to the correct section.the handle base has grooves in it, meaning you have to line it up correctly to the wholes on the actual base which is bolted to the car.
like i say, try taking all skirting off, and fit the handle, it it goes on then there is nothing missing, if it still wont go on then you know there must be a problem.

:)
