Hi
Bought my B in June last year just as the sun came out for the summer and have love it ever since. Had wanted one for years and found out through a friend of a friend - T reg with 25000 miles LE model - lots of fun.

A couple of weeks ago some little s**t bumped into the front and the Fiat badge has come off and subsequently cracked. The original badge looked as though it had been attached with sticky tape - anyone else seen this? I bought a new one from ebay but it has various plugs on the back which don't seem to match. Any ideas on the best way to fit it?

Also, there is remote central locking but it is not linked up to the indicators so I never know if the doors are locked or not. Anyone know if you can link in the central locking to the indicators without installing a full alarm system?

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the badge you have bought isnt specifically for the Barchetta maybe? You could always grind the lugs off and use some good adhesive pads (3M) to stick it on? Your central locking sounds like the "aftermarket" type i.e. a yellow relay underneath the passenger footwell with a little bit of wire hanging down, thats the aerial for the remote blipper. I would imagine it would be quuite difficult to wire it to the indicators and would take an auto-electrician some time to achieve it. regards clive.

Hi Clive - thanks for the advice. Think you're right with the badge - think that this is the only way. Must admit though that it makes people even more curious as to what the car is as they don't see the Fiat badge! Will have a look at the remote locking in the morning. Might just have to be more careful with locking up

I bought my B without the original remote so I bought this system last week, you just have to listen for the locks locking:D

Hi Alan,
Nope this is a bit different. I dont know what the cable is for, but I guess this is more of a piggyback system of the central locking relay instead of replacing the relay.

If it was me I would go with the one I fitted, its been on the car for just over a year now with no problems at all and I am happy to recommend it. FYI It also only takes 1 min to fit :)

If you give the other one a go, let us know how you get on as it gives other owners a selection of recommended choices for this issue (y)

:)

Only one way to find out. Thats the thing about owning a B, If you want to mod something its just so hard to find anyone who has ever done it before you. I always cross my fingers and spend the money :) & just hope it works out for the best hehehehe.

I've just looked at both units & it def isn't a relay  so may take much messing about.

Plus not sure what this is about?

An actuator must be present both on Fahrer-und front seat passenger side.

If one should be missing at your vehicle, this can be simply re-tooled.

They can refer an actuator also over us, the price for it lie with 7,50 euro.
