blue and me quick question

i guess this has been posted before on the forum so i apologise, i just like a quick straight forward answer really without looking too much into it. but i have an 07 grande punto t-jet , and as it come with blue and me it does not let me connect and play music etc etc. i was wondering what version these cars come with? as im looking at buying an iphone adaptor but they only work with version 5.4 or higher. just wanted to check before i purchased that it does actually work?

if there is any other cheaper way to play music through the current version then i would appreciate it i think at the moment usb sticks with mp3 files on work

Hi,

Theres no telling which version your car would come with but you can easily update it to 5.5. My car is a 58 plate it came pre-installed with 5.4 (the previous owner wasn't the type of person who would play around with Blue and Me so I assume they also got it with 5.4 installed) I updated it to 5.5 anyway.

I have the adapter and its great, worth getting if you can find it cheap. I got one of a member on here for £20

Otherwise just sticking all your music on a USB stick is the best option

thanks james, just needed someone to clear it up , how did you update it? i have read about it briefly but i wasnt sure if i need an adapter? or if can put the update onto a usb stick and plug in and update?

just a pain since my music is on spotify etc etc but that will be my last resort

It's dead simple. Get a blank USB stick download some files off the fiat website and copy them to the stick.

Plug it into the USB port in the glove box. Stick your key in the ignition (no need to turn the engine over) and wait.

If I can give you any advice be patient. Sometimes it will look like its doing nothing but its still updating. If I remember it took over 5 minutes to fully finish (but maybe I was being impatient)

right shall give that a try, any idea were to look on the fiat website? link or anything? would really appreciate it hah, so is it worth downloading the most recent version? or just 5.4/5.5, or do you get all the previous versions with the latest ?

I'm sure if you search google for blue and me updates fiat you'll find it.

If I seem to remember if your on anything lower than. 5.4 you will need to update to 5.4 before you upgrade to 5.5.

I used 5.4 for a couple of weeks before upgrading to 5.5 and I couldn't notice any difference to be honest

Yeah the adapter works just fine. I've found it a bit tricky to use with my jailbroken iPod, sometimes it doesn't want to work. before I jail broke it it was fine, when it works its awesome. Very good buy but not worth £50. Try and pick it up cheap if you can
