Been looking at biodiesel and it seems to be a bit aggressive on seals etc - does anyone have any experience with using biodiesel or filtered veg oil in the 2 litre turbo on a 2007 Scudo?

Apparently older diesel tech was ok..

But the commonrail diesels are not designed for it..
Atomisation under the vast pressures isnt good :(

I think all pump diesel contains some bio element. The pump is marked B7, which I think is 7% bio.

Petrol contains 5% ethanol, which is marked E5. There are proposals to introduce E10, which may cause issues to older cars. I think anything post-2000 should be ok, but not sure of the details.

However, not good to add more, or try to run modern diesels on veg oil.

Perhaps one of our fuel experts will give us the correct detail.
