Righty, here's a pic of the front of my stilo (which i'm just introducing to the world of modifications) and i was thinking of entering into a few elaborate projects on him. I love cars with big grills (Audis, Bentleys, the usual) and i'm thinking my boy deserves one too! All that's needed is the numberplate section cut out, then i could get a custom grill made and put in... easy... right!

So first off, here's a pic, and if anyone out there could photoshop it so that the numberplate section is gone i would be ever so ever so grateful! :D

Also, quick question, if i buy a new front bumper (from a kit) how much of the original does it replace? Basically, would i be able to buy a new front bumper and perform this operation on that?

Cheers in advance to anyone who can help!

nope, cant say i have... unfortunately i think that look really rather poop... way too over the top, thinking its the bonnet and grill not fitting together very well. i've got a piccy here of the sorta thing i've been inspired by:

and heres another one that some genius could photoshop so i get a viewers' perspective of the car:

thanks again geezers,

Sorry im a bit confused as to what you want do you want the grill from another car to be shown on yours or just to get rid of the plate. let me know what you want and ill have a go.

Thanks volxstu, i'd like to get rid of the plate (and the silver horizontal pillar its on) so i can get an idea of what the car would look like with one big grill. the other pic is just what i'm inspired by.

i found this car:

that has a sweet bonnet and nice front bumper extension but lots of horried features... if u wouldn't mind i'd love to see that with the same concept but also the bonnet grill removed and the gills in the side removed.

sorry if i'm asking too much, i'm just really eager and would love to get a good idea of what i'm aiming for before i start chopping things up.

that seems like a good enough bonnet, be intrigued to see it from a different angle, i just like the meaty front end the one in the pic gives the stilo... think that with the big grill we'll look really aggressive... the idea sounds too OTT for my own tastes but i think it might just work so want to see a mockup.

cheers for imput guys

cheers spag but i definately want that horizontal pillar removed, i'm not a fan of camoflagueing things, and i reckon it would defo look better with all grills matching. not mesh though... its a bit fussy for such a large space. either horizontal strips (as is) or vertical strips like a roller?

oh, and (legally) would i get away with having the numberplate to one side (where the rub strips are) ??

honeycomb plastic would look awesome, but I cant seem to find where to buy that! (y)

yeah... i'm not sure how i'm gonna go abouts making the front grill, thats definately going to be the hardest part because of the curvature. Might just go off on one and indulge in something absurd!

Has anyone had a chance to start chopping up some these piccys for me yet? I'd really appreciate it.

Joshy

had photoshop open, this what you want?

sweet serin, exactly! it makes that car look like a truck!

dave... hmmm... you've put an interesting spin on things there!

anyone got any ideas how you'd keep that in proportion a bit? maybe a border around the grill?
also, could you get rid of the bonnet vent, side gills, and front bump strips please?

cheers again

ive added them to the first post

so you have, sorry.

I think it looks better with the other two grills there actually. What do you reckon to my other ideas? Getting rid of the fussy stuff (gills, bumpstrips, and bonnet vent) and then adding some sort of frame around our new grill?

awesome, thanks very very much serin, given me some clearer thoughts now and a bit of inspiration too. i think i'll try sketching a few things and see if i can come up with a design.

thanks again for all your help buddy

... oh, and you're hot stuff at that photoshoping... nice one!

Hey, I had the exact same idea a couple of days ago, after already taking my bumper off once, i realised there is an impact bar which runs directly behin the number plate section, so just chopping it off and putting mesh is not a good idea, however i am considering buying a second hand bumper and attempting to fit the audi rs4 big grill, i will post pics and let you know how i get on, if i proceed.
