Styling Bee sting mk1

Hi,
I want a bee sting on my mk1, i took out the old aerial yest to see how it came away and its a strange fitment. All the bee stings aerials ive seen are screw in yet this looked more like the end of a flat head screw driver!Howd ya get around this???There isnt even any thread to screw in an aerial.

my mk1 has a screw in aerial...

I tried twisting an pulling an it came out an this is wat came out(VERY ROUGHLY)

Thats what all of the mk1's I've seen have.

Right, you can also remove the rubber nipple (ooh err) cut down the length of the aerial and then put the nipple back on the shorter aerial. That's what i did on my cinq, and it didn't affect the signal much, if at all.

MIne definitly doesnt look like that. Its not screw in. Wonder why that is. Mine is a 1997 model. Mine is how i showwed in the picture.Wonder if there is anywhere i can get a base like the one youve shown there cos i want a silver aerial

I have a silver bee-sting ariel fitted on my mk1. I bought it because someone snapped mine off, but my old man fitted it so not sure how it was done.
