General Battery problems

Hi all im just wondering if anyone knows the problem im having with my fiat cinq sporting.Last week i put a brand new alternator on my car and it was working fine,but i jumped in it last night to pop down shop and i noticed my dashboard lights where a bit dim and wondered why.So then i noticed when i put my foot down and the revs passed 4000 revs they went better and the car felt quicker to,but when i slowed down they went dim again.So then this morning i went down mothers came back out and batt was flat so i bumped started it and it turned over,when i arrived back home knocked engine off and then turned it back on and it worked.Does anyone know the problem as i want to sell the car and do you think i have a dodgy alternator?

I dont think its the alternator as it does provide the power to the car when running, its probably your battery on the way out.

I have a similar problem on mine so will be watching the thread with interest.

Yeah i think ill go down garage now and get it tested.Ill post back if it is anything else.Cheers for the info mate

when i had my escort i had probz liek this my car kept cutting out tho and battery completely died - i had two alternators go with this,

Check the charging circuit is complete. Do you have the 12V to the alternator. You haven't put an LED bulb in the dash.
