Technical Battery help please

Hi. Can anyone please help me. A photo of my positive battery attached. There’s a third cable unattached. Looks like fitting snapped.Should it be? Car not starting

I can see the tab..

Where is the cable??


The missing one will be pretty lightweight.. maybe a sensor supply


So:

Non.starting.. is it cranking over ok?

Check the dash..is the Immobiliser : key symbol working ok..??

Here's a shot of mine. I've no idea what the black cable is or does. You may be able to fit a new tag onto the end and reconnect it.

IF it is stopping the car start..

You can always slacken that nut.. and trap the end of the broken tab ..and cable under the nut and remainder of the tab.
Then retighten the nut.


I dont think it just failed though.. has been 'encouraged' to break

Yes, looks like it's been bent, then snapped - yet it's far more substantial than the tag in my photo.

The cable is left of the battery the concern is why a reasonably thick cable has become detached?

Is it possible to replace use the old connector (open up and re crimp) to the existing cable ?
